General

Characterized by tall, stout stems topped with dense clusters of small brown flowers, thriving in marshes, wet meadows, and along pond edges where the soil is consistently moist. An aggressive sedge useful for erosion control projects. Often found in shallow water, or in sunny, wet areas. Provides dense cover for wildlife, and web support for various spiders.

Plant Description

Displays robust, erect stems that can grow up to several feet tall, often forming dense clumps. Its slender, dark green leaves are arranged along the stems, complementing the distinctive spike-like inflorescences composed of small, densely packed brown flowers.
